They are all cheap

for a millionaire
I have a lot less money in my 2.2s than I do my 1.9s, unless you find a heck of a deasl like I did. (Thanks Sacco)

It all depends. How hard you wheel and what you wheel. I havent had any problems with either and I wheel my trucks hard. But on the contrary you'd think 2.2's would have more problems and be more expensive.

I'll tell you the same thing I tell everyone... it doesn't matter WHAT kind of a crawler you build... you're gonna have $400-$500 in it MINIMUM with batteries, radio gear, etc.

There is really no easier. Although a good way to start would be an axial with a TCS X-trail. I generally like 2.2's better myself. Work alot better and you dont have to spend $40 to get a working tire(rc4wds).

the words cheap and rc do not go together. There isn't much you can do with rc's that is cheap. Personally I'm a tight wad, I bought a scorpion and made all the hop-ups for it cuz I'm to cheap to buy the stuff. So if you have some fabrication skills buy what you can afford, drive it, and hop it up as you go. look at these two pictures, the first on is my rig a month ago bone stock. the second one was taken today

Well in my opinion, 2.2 is easier and cheaper to get into just because of the influx of parts coming to the scene such as rtr crawlers. $279 for an ax-10 rtr and you're in. Now when you mentioned scale that is a whole new area. 1.9 or 2.2 scale is costly because of lack of parts and whats out there is very realistic stuff which cost $$ to make and or build.

I'm kinda in the same boat with trying to get started as cheaply as possible - My plan (at least for now), is to just start trying to look for deals on parts and picking them up as I can while I save my pennies... If I end up with enough pennies before I buy too many parts, I'll buy the Axial kit and go from there..

That month old rig looks AWESOME by the way... I love it! What all did you replace, and why?
