| does anybody run a dx6 in a comp rig? is it harder to use than the usual pistol grip, which i would usually use? i am looking at getting a 2.4ghz radio because the minnesota rock crawling group is getting large and there are frequency conflicts. i would just get a dx3r but i hope to build a scaler at some point, which i would like to at least have a winch, 4wd/2wd, and maybe some other features. i have heard the dx3r can be programmed to use any switch for anything, and that would work, but the reciever can still only have 3 things plugged into it, so i would have to unplug and swap things to use different features. so i would just like to know how long it takes most people to become aquanted with the controls of a stick radio, how well it performs, and what the downsides are to the dx6 over a pistol grip. and i can only afford 1 spektrum radio. | i run a DX6 in my comp rig as well as my scalers. the stick radio isnt quite as comfortable, but you get used to it. the nice thing is all the channels can be utilized in a comp rig(dig, rear lock, front susp compression) or scaler(winch, lights, high/low beams). also the ar6000 and br6000 rx's can be had fairly cheap, and fr the price even new, you cant beat it |

I use a t6ex (futaba version). The functionality of a stick radio is just t!ts. Never used the spectrum but on mine you get the four proportional channels of the sticks. 2 toggle switch channels, and two programmable mixer switches. So you can for example make your rear steering servo a slave to your main steering servo for automatic rear steer. Also all channels can be reversed. As previously stated it takes a minute to adjust, but I don't think I would crawl with a pistol after using this controller.

i know that i will have to program it for surface use, but i think i have an issue of rc driver around here that has a walkthrough on how to set it up. with a dx6 i could run a winch, 2wd/4wd, lights, and maybe a dump bed or anything else i might think of. now the question is: what is a good 6ch reciever for this that can handle surface use, and allow enough power flow for my servos?

can it handle a hitec 645 servo? i am not sure because it is designed for tiny plane servos, not 125oz servos. will it overload the circuits?

i wouldnt think it would overload the curciuts its made for a 450 heli and such and there is some pretty good size servos in that heli so i wouldn't think there would be problem i will have to find out and let you know hmmmm
