| http://www.tcscrawlers.com/Axial-AX1...8-p-16410.html these are the best axles out right now. tlt axles are no longer being produced and parts are scarce, and these axles are made for crawling. i also reccomend http://www.rcpcrawlers.com/ for crawler construction parts as well, and the best place for electronics is http://holmeshobbies.com/home.php you should go into the minnesota forum in the midwest regional section. we have a large group of MN crawlers that would all be glad to give you any pointers. we meet 2 times a month in taylors falls on the st croix river. it is a little ways from you, but some people drive from iowa to compete there. it is all up to you. | I'd suggest just getting an AX-10 & starting from there. By the time you buy axles, transmission, etc., you could have just picked up an AX-10 kit, and then you'd have a bunch of screws, hardware, links, etc. to use on your custom build. |

| You can get pairs of axles a little cheaper off ebay. They're starting to turn up from people who disassemble the RTR trucks and part them out. I'll second the suggestion to buy a kit, however. The extra parts are really handy. |

| well right now im in collage and I dont have a job so i think this will be a down the road project...I just think it is so sweet. The one problem i find with ebay is most of these trucks are discontinued now and very spendy. tho the ax-10 is new and very cool. I think i will sit on this one for a bit and come back to it later...maybe head down to a group neer here and check them out. Thanks all, Jon |

| AX-10 axles, they are easy to find parts and fairly strong. Their around $40 on www.xtreme-rc-hobbies.net And they have some awesome customer support if you ever have questions. |
