searched but never found many definite results. Just got an edge built AX10 and looking at either dig or rear steer. No comp or anything around here in northern Wyoming so thats not a factor, more or less just fun the the yard and while out wheelin the 1:1. Whats the best bang for the buck, rear steer or front dig? I've got a dig type setup in my 1:1 and its nice but most the time rear steer would be more practical in it but maybe not so in the RC version?

Dig. It not only helps you turn sharper than you could with rear steer, it will allow you to get traction on verticals without allowing the rear to run under the truck.

If you're just running for fun, put on the rear steer. Dig for comps!

The quick set up is to run rear steer. I have rear steer on all my rental trucks. If your using a pistol grip radio you can buy a reversing Y adapter and your wheels will turn the same way. I recently purchased a dig and I have not installed yet, but I hear it can take and hour to 4 hours tuning it in. Either way you have to buy another servo, so if your not comping I would go rear steer, just my opinion!

Dig. Its more versatile, and will allow your truck to do more things than rear steer will. Also, as mentioned before, its comp legal.

if you don't have a radio yet, get a spektrum DX6. it is a stick airplane radio, whith 6 channels and no frequency conflicts. only 176$. with that and a couple 35$ hitec 645 servos you can have both dig, and rear steer. i've been told that once you get used to the stick radio you will be a better driver with it than with a pistol grip.

you may need a more powerful BEC with 3 servos, but i think that the dig would be good to help you climb, and turn, or in some situations the rear steer may help you wiggle your way out of a tight spot. if you only do one i would reccomend dig. dig is legal if you ever compete. and rear steer may be a little more difficult to coordinate to manuver than just activating the rear lock.

rear steer on rear axle, and then mount the dig servo in the chassis. on the r2 dig tranny you can mount a servo on the tranny.

I find the DIG setup much more useful than the rear steer on my other rig.
