Default What type of battery?

I just bought a ax-10 rtr and what type of battery should i run in it ? I bought 2 7.2v 4500mah high power nimh batterys with a smart charger(i think 6 cell batterys). Is this a good set up? Any help would be much appereciated.

Those should work just fine, the only problem is there size and weight makes it harder to mount in a good location to keep your center of gravity down low to keep the rig from flipping so easy. If you run a velcro strap under your steering servo and run the battery length wise over your front/upper links and strap it down would probably be your best bet.

What are you doing with the truck? If you're competing at all, or even mostly crawling, I'd look at a set of 2/3 A saddle packs.

All i am doing with the truck is just a allaround crawler one just to play with in the back yard. I know that the battery tray is up on top of the ax10 will the battery fit there? how much of a problem will i have with its size? How much bigger is it than a 1500 pack?

Should fit fine. It is much bigger than a 1500 pack. 1500 mah 2/3A cells are small enough that pretty much everyone mounts them to the front axle for better weight distribution. Makes a huge difference in overall performance.
