I've heard of people using Liquid Drano (Crystals). There is a few step-by-step thread in this forum. I just did it last night with the Easy Off.

I used oven cleaner found at wally mart
it's very cheap and works great!
ust pop the parts in a zip-lock bag and spray it in there.
the spray will turn green then dump it out and re spray.

at the end I had to use sme scotch pads and some fine grit sand paper and then polished them up.
then no more green!
try it it works.

"thumbsup"

Self etching aluminum wheel cleaner stripped mine completely off in about 10 minutes. It's the Eagle One wheel cleaner

I've got a bunch of that I bought at a super discounted price, but never thought about using it. Thanks for the reminder because I've got a few more things to deanodize.

To start with I used the easy off though, and then came back with some SOS soap pads and water to make sure everything was scrubbed off good. After that, a little metal polish and a rag and everything came out with a mirror finish. Some of the smaller stuff like the hexes I actually just scrubbed with some bore brushes I've got for my gun barrels. Dremel is the easiest way, but my dremel wasn't at home the night I decided to do it.

I've tried oven cleaner and the Draino Crystals.
The Draino worked much better. It's faster and doesn't leave any color.

I'm sorry, but this is a question that could have easily been answered with the search button.

Apparently the "fume free" version of easy off doesn't work. I've had my link in over 10 minutes and it didn't really do anything.

I did the same thing (already some in the house), and it just creates more work. Use the yellow can.
