Your internal springs can be run either on top of the piston for a conventional style (compression ) shock or under the piston for a droop style shock. Generally you want to remove the outer spring.

looking through the forums ive noticed alot of people w/ internal springs mount their shocks upside down

what exactly is the point of mounting shocks upside down?

The majority of the weight of the shock is lower. thus lowering your Center of Gravity

I thought that if you turn them upside down that was to help prevent leakage.
