if you dont already have a 3 channel radio
a y-harness w/ a reverser
or if you're willing to open up ur servo to do a little soldering a standard y-harness

you might want to check out my thread about an issue i had when i installed my rear steer
rewireing reversing servo question

from what i remember ur running a rtr scorpian
you might also need to get a couple more things. since the rtr uses a locked rear axle ur gonna need things like a set of new wish bones c hub some berrings if anything i can give you an exact list of what you need before ur rear steer is up and running.
* im at work right now and dont know all the parts off the top of my head, but i do have an invoice at home on what i bought.

Could I just buy another front axle assembly and use it for the rear or is there something different?

Default rear steer is no good.

dont get rear steer. Thats a thing of the past. If you want to make it comp worthy get dig. In the end it will cost around the same as rear steer if you have to do all those axle mods. Also have all four wheel move at the same time getts really annoying. I was all for it till I watched videos of it. if you want comp statues use DNA dig

at the moment im running a dna dig in my comp rig, but i have to admitt before i installed the dig unit, having the rear stear was really fun.

rear steer = fun
dig = more capable crawler

so you are able to just buy a replacement front axle and install it in the rear, and have no problems at all? interesting... i think i might do that, i think it would be cheaper in the long run

well of course going to need a 3rd channel, extra servo, servo plate, servo mount and rear steer kit for the steering links and rod ends

Thanks NeXt559 for answering my question, I do appreciate it.

I do realize that dig would be better for a comp rig AND rear steer is not legal BUT I'm building this for me and not to compete. Heck, I'd be extremely lucky to even find a place to run the truck around here, I'm hoping my LHS builds a course so I'll have a place to play but until then I'm going to just have fun around the house with the 4ws and maybe even build a scaler. Of course once a course is built it will then either be converted to a comp rig OR just add to the fleet. As for the 3rd channel, I already run a Futaba 3pk so I have plenty of options for different mixes as well as a dial to use for indy rear steer.

Anyway, thanks again!

Jon
