Total should be under 100 shipped for 2 batts and charger if you like what you see below: Get two 7 cell split packs from holmes (one to use while one charges) http://holmeshobbies.com/product.php...&cat=10&page=1 and get a Dynamite Prophet Plus AC/DC Peak Charger, not necessarily from the link. Its just to show general price and recommended specs with a picture. http://www.southeastrc.com/Items/Std...lookup=DYN4036 |

Strap them to the axle. What ESC do you have? Can it take 7cell packs?

I second the Prophet Plus for a good charger. Or, if you want to "future-proof" yourself, look into a Triton 2 or Triton Jr. They will do NIMH and NICD as well as Li-PO which you may well use in the future.

7cell vs 6cell.... you'll get a little more speed out of your motor with the 7cell, but more weight.

I'm running the 7 cell from Hobbyzone for the SuperCub mounted to the front axle (has the battery on axle plate on it too) with a Venom Tamiya to Mini Tamiya charger adapter between the packs and the ESC and charger.

That will work perfect. I currently run 2 & 2/3s of those packs cause they are cheap with decent run times. I already had 2 and bought a third to make 8 cell packs. If you ever want more cells like I did, you can cut it up and solder more in for cheap. The only thing is that the cells are bigger and you can only get 2 on each side of the servo if you split them up unlike the holmes 2/3A packs I linked you to earlier. In case your wondering I put the other 4 cells on the back axle (I feel it even the weight distribution better). Here are pics if that didnt make since... |

Is a 1800mah going to be enough? I've been looking at going 3000-4200mah! |

The 1800mah on my stock crawler lasted 30min. The same battery with a 55t motor yielded about 45min run times. Those will vary depending on your throttle usage but both are long enough to charge the battery not in use while crawling with the other. Now with the 8cell 1800mah I made I get about 10% more run time (50min) due to using less throttle because the extra volts the extra cells give.

before I decided on a battery for my scorpion, I just used a 1600 pack from my mini LST2. To my surprise, it lasted 30-35 minutes with my 55t integy motor. And heres a bonus, it fits perfectly on the axial servo/battery axle plate, right beside the servo. Very clean set up. So I stuck with it. |
