So i was wondering a servo recommendation. i was using a JR Z650M for about 2 weeks and then it up a stopped working today. Was working last night, turned it on this afternoon and nothing. swapped controllers and recievers and battery packs, nothing. So before I jump in and spend $100 for another pair of these as i was going to run rear steer, what is everyone else running.

Hitec HS-5955TG. torque for days. i have tried to break it, and simply can not get it done.

Theres one main item that you shouldn't skimp on. Thats a servo. Your servos does so much work and has so much stress that its not even funny. Making sure your running a bec,set at 6v and double checking your epas can make a nice servo last forever. Of course your driving style matters as well but imo spend the money and pick up some quality. HSC and HSR 5955TGs is what i run personaly but ive been reading a lot of good stuff about the Tower Pros if your stick with a budget. Good Luck.

what is a BEC, I have been running 4 AA 2500MaH on the front axle for the servos. I'm not reallt on a budget, I just think $90 for a servo is rediculous.

I felt similarly about dropping $100 on a servo. But after burning up a few CEN 144oz servos, and not liking a Cirrus 181oz servo, I just installed a Hitec 5955TG on my rig about 2 hours ago. The difference is just AMAZING. The power is sweet. The speed is impressive. The warranty thru Hitec is nice. I got this one for $93 shipped....and I believe that it is well worth the price. I am using this on a very heavy rig, and in initial testing it EXCEEDS my every want in a servo.

everyone constantly goes on and on about the 5955TG, and I myself have two of them, but really, I believe the replacement to that discontinued model, the 7955TG is a better servo, believe it or not.

I have two of those as well, and it makes less noise, if nothing else, but I understand it is very much more programmable too.

The programmer costs more than the servo. I use the radio to set it as I need it. IF I had a radio without EPA then the programmer would be needed, and I might use the other programming functions. I will never actually see/feel the difference in the new 7955. At crawler speeds the higher resolution will not be noticable. People have been using the 5955 for a long while with great results....and as it is discontinued, there are deals to be had for hte budget minded folks. And I may be in the minority, but I think that the noise from the 5955 is endearing and distinct.

the JR 8711 is the top dog..(403 oz )
but the tork does not come cheep.. @140.00
it is AWSOME...

Think of it as sort of a voltage regulator that provides consistant power at a preset voltage to your servo. Some ESCs (Novak Goat) have a 6v BEC built in.

hitec hs645mg ultra torque. it's like 30 bucks and i've had no problem with mine. i run them on two of my rigs and they're still fine through heavy bashing and comps.

i run a novak rooster crawler right now, so cool i already have a BEC then. Hmm think I'm going to buy 4 Towerpro MG946R 12kg High Torque Servo from this website http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...idProduct=6222 at $12 a pop its worth a shot

Like I said, if nothing else it's more quiet. Endearing?

. I bought my 79 for $6 more than my 59, and I like it more for sure. You like noise? Go for the 59.

I run a JR z8800t and have had very good results and I run without a servo saver.

I brought 2 towerpro-servo's one for me one for my son-I had to put lock tight on the bolt holding the servo arm on-it came loose twice-My son broke 2 servo's in about 2 weeks-We have had these for 3 weeks and he hasn't broke then-he broke the stock driveshafts and we got the MIP's

I currently run the Towerpro MG946R... (It was free) If I come to spend big money on a servo it will be the JR Z9100S... I do decals for a local guy who flies R/C Helicopters to take images/video for news channels and has crashed them several times without any issue to the JR's... They are almost bullet proof..!
