Default turning secret of aluminum solid links?

I have been trying to attach RC4WD aluminum rod ends to solid link via a thread shaft. I just couldn't get both rod end opening facing the same direction at the end of the turn. The closest I could get is about 15 degree off.

Does anyone like to share their secret on how to get them to face the same direction?

You could just lock tight the rod end in place.

Chop a piece of a toothpick of and put it in the solid link then screw in the threaded shaft, play with different sizes until you get it to line up correctly.

Once you figure out the right size with a toothpick then cut that size out of a nylon screw and thread it in to the solid link. Then you can put in the threaded shaft with some locktite.

That would be my last solution... to be honest, Traxxas plastic ball with solid link is probably more secure than holding with lock tight

that wouldn't work. washers change the length of the link at the same time.
