Change gearing, but you're only going to get either torque or speed, not both at the same time.

depending on what type of esc your using you could just have a spare motor with leads and deans already. It doesn't take but about ten min. to change out motors as long as you have it prewired and already have a pinion on it. but like many others some esc's limit your motor turns. (rooster crawler)27t

Great set-ups, but I still doubt it's the speed he's looking for. I run a 4.5 Novak brushless in my offroad fast car. Last edited by freetimecrawler; 08-18-2008 at 06:55 PM.

Actually, couldn't you just use the combination of a Cobalt Puller and the R2 2-speed transmission? Isn't that like having a 2-speed transfer case in a 1:1 rig? |

Don't forget a second set of wheels/tires (no or little weight, stiffer foams or lower profile rubber). The Holmes video shows that thing nose diving most of the time, like the front was still weighted for crawling. |

I'm hoping to get some pretty good wheelspeed with a 14T pinion/87T spur on an AX10. That's the combination I'm going to try when I get the 7T installed on mine. If you do a search for "cobalt puller" on youtube, you'll see some videos that show both crawlability as well as wheelspeed. |

Its pretty much the most pricey motor you could buy. If you run wheels with no weights it would probably just flip over backwards unless you rig is real heavy. If you run it with a decent 3s lipo anyways. For esc I would honestly go with something alittle cheaper like a fxr or a sidewinder, you could even use a mamba max. There was a vid on youtube where there was a tuber that was blazing on some trails and pretty nice air. try youtubing 7t puller or something like that. Good luck!!
