coolest tire with best traction
 

I currently have an axial ax10 with the tcs edge chassis. I am going to buy some new tires to replace my rock lizards. looking for some input on which tires. To me the coolest looking tires are realistic ones. which of the following have you had the best luck with. RC4WD Mud Slingers 2.2" RC4WD Rock Crusher X/T 2.2 Proline Racing Badlands 2.2" Proline Racing Flat Iron 2.2 Tire M2 Proline Racing Hammer 2.2" Proline M3 Compound 2.2

Ive been running flat irons for a couple of months now, and they work great. They dont get too good of traction when wet though.

im running claws but like the looks of the flat irons

i have been running my hammer m2's with the memory foam on my CR for about 3-4 months and love them. the only problem that i have encountered besides wet conditions is side hilling. the sidewalls are a little too soft they seem to fold under fairly easy and i dont even have the wheels weighted yet. they do provide far more superior traction than the losi rock claws. weighted or not the flat irons seem to do well and look good also.your best bet is to find some buds that you crawl with and try their tires till you find the ones that best suite your needs or wants.

p.s. also it will save you some mad $$$ if you try your friends tires first;-)"thumbsup"

My claws (and i've been thru 3 sets now) have out performed all the other tires I have tried. Mashers, Moabs, Hammers, Flat irons (The worst by far in my opinion).

I have not tried the panther personally, but have run with a guy who has them and he can keep up with me all day. I'd like to try a set but i've been waiting for the carvers to come out. decisions.......decisions......

Panther all day long"thumbsup"...Just make sure you tune your foams;-)

panther don't look like real tires, i doubt you will ever see a panther in a 44 inch version

Are you building a scale rig or a comp rig? BIG difference.

Panthers do work very well,no doubt. I'd like to try them on my rigs soon. They do lack anything close to a scale tire. They weren't designed for that though....Pure comp tire.

If you want a little scale and performance,I think the Flat Irons might be the better choice.

This is my tire of choice right now and k9popo has good advice tune your foams which makes them them a little more difficult to get total preformance check out the Cougar thread the last few pages hold the answers.

I doubt you'll see many two engined no drive shaft rigs either but this is RC.

badlands r amazing i have the same setup as you and i love them

imex rubicons in the soft compound w/ proline memory foam.

claws with cut foams. i have out run panthers on hot days because they get to soft and cant hold a line.

If you want a "scale" looking tire with good performance, and you're luck enough to get your hands on them :roll:. Pick up a set of the new losi rock carver tires which look a suprisingly like Pit bull Rocker Tires?!?!?! X2 "thumbsup" My Cougars are outperforming my Claws by a mile. But as already said - they certainly don't look "real" but then again, nothing on my rig looks "real" anyways!! The same way that there is no "real" scale to the obstacles we can climb with our RC rmachines

I have had my hammers for about 2 weeks, they were the right price and they came with memory foam.

I normally run Cougars, but I also have a set of modified Flat Irons that I'll run on occasion, just depends on what kind of rocks we're crawling on that particular day8)

Panther's are round and black, just like the tires on my full scale Jeep.



If you're wanting more of a scale look though I would have to go with the Flatiron's I guess. I think I'm gonna pick up a set at some point just to try them out since I like the look of them, but for anything where I know I need traction I can't give up my Panthers.
