my first build

Hi i'm a huge noob to rc rock crawling and i am building my first crawler it is going to be a rescue hummer h2 and i have most of the parts from the discontinued 1/18 losi dune buggy, i have the transmission(i might have to buy a better one), esc/speed controller, motor, and suspension parts. i was thinking about doing a straight axle in the rear and idependent suspension in the front with droop shocks and leafs front and rear. i still need to buy a servo, tires/wheels, chassis, and axles. i'm not sure what axles to buy so tell me what you think.

(edit) I bought 2 of these axles:http://www.tcscrawlers.com/Axial-AX1...8-p-16410.html two of these new sliding leaf springs:http://www.tcscrawlers.com/Proto-Tes...h-p-16893.html this cool scale chassis:http://www.tcscrawlers.com/MFM-Racin...r-p-16142.html and a Hitec HS-225MG servo. i am going to get an axial locked gearbox and some tires and wheels in a couple of weeks when i get the money.

Axial is probably the best axle for your purposes you'll probably want to get some lock outs with it.

I am kind of a noob at the RC thing, but are you going to run the 2-link in the rear as it is in your pictures?

Servo is not being used properly. You need to either place an arm on it and lower the contact point. Or bend the tierod and make in into an "s" shape. You are forcing your servo to swivel in a circular motion. You want it to move almost side to side. Hope I explained that right, lol.

I might run it like that but i'm just testing different suspension setups.

I know. i just changed the head on the servo and the arm is now moving side to side. The links i am using now are temporary.
