| Yeah, 3S Lipo is the absolute best way to go. 4S would be even better. In my son's rig I run 9.6 though. 8 cell 2/3A's and that is the minimum I would run in crawler. Volt up and gear down just like JRH says. |

what esc are you useing that should tell what you can use. I have the Rooster so I use a 7 cell 2/3 8.4v 2300mah split pack. The Rooster will only take 7 cells. I don't know alot about lipo's Last edited by lucky13offroad; 09-10-2008 at 03:57 PM. Reason: ooops |

I'm not familiar with the power aspects yet either, but I have a 3000mAh 6 cell NiMh and the freakin thing lasts forever. It hasn't hesitated or anything on steep climbs or wheels stuck in ruts either so for now I think I've got enough power. I havent had an RC for like 15 years and back then the packs would last like 15-20 minutes tops. I'm getting like an hour to hour and half run time with a Rooster and stock silvercan motor. I told my wife I was going out to kill off the battery and I was gone like an hour and came back and the thing is still going strong. At this point, this amuses me enough for trail running/light crawling. I guess if I get into more serious crawling I may change things up |

I have a 2/3A 6 cell split pack (7.2v) anid it's good for a beginner crawler, but you will soon want more. Get as much volatge as your ESC can handle. That being said, I have a an 8 cell (9.6v) on order and should be here tomorrow! |
