| Man I'm dumb....duh
Well, I got the thing built to the install esc and stuff (step 27) and discovered I had no reverse! Seems you guys who race often could care less about reverse. I'm making a poser so of course I need reverse. Anyone know how many turns the stock Mabuchi RS 540 SH does? The guy who is replacing my esc wants to know and I can't find the info in the book. He suggested a Duratrax DTXM 1059. Will that work for a poser crawler? At least I know the steering and motor work. Any help would be appreciated. |

27 turns. How much money do you want to spend on the ESC? |

your stock motor will do fine if you don't want to shell out bucks just yet. I've got the stock motor and its got plenty of balls to do what the CR-01 can handle. I get nervous sometimes with the torque it seems to be putting on the drivetrain in certain situations, seems like it wants to pull the truck out of everything. I haven't gotten the twisted driveshaft yet as some people get, but I guess thats why they give you extras in the kit! The ESC I got was inexpensive like 89 bucks, Novak Rooster Crawler, not as adjustable as the Tekin from what I heard but it works for me, its got reverse, can go wicked slow too

Thanks for the input guys. I own a couple of Land Cruiser R/Cs already but NOTHING like this CR-01. I'm soooo hooked it ain't funny. This forum is awesome for help and speeds the learning curve considerably. Reminds me of Ih8mud for Cruiserheads. |

| link to my CR-01 build
I thought I'd post a link to my CR-01 build thread from our club's cruiser site forum. Our club has about 160 members. I was there at conception. For any Cruiserheads out there. http://forum.ih8mud.com/sc-upstate-c...ling-here.html |

Holy chit ! I screwed the pooch painting. All was sweet as I trimed the black, painted the sky blue body, added the off white roof. Man it Looked killer. Then came the nightmare. I sprayed the widows with smoke and the +#*"x# stuff bled all through the other paint. Oh well the windows look awesome. I guess I'll have to paint on the outside. BUMMER. I ordered a bushwacker for playtime and will keep the tamiya body for show. Live and learn. I guess when tamiya makes the body available I'll get one and have another go at it. Geeeesh. |

| ok now the plan
Cancel the bushwacker. Order the new Tamiya w/ stickers etc. Paint funky one On the outside and have a blast with it and not worry about body carnage. Sometimes things work out better than originally planned. |
