For the price the Losi MRC is best, for performance buy the Axial ARTR. You may have to extend your budget a little for the Axial though

I would go with the axial because i have heard nothing but good about it as a beginner crawler.

Its just a bit more but i think its worth it.

Just to butt into this question with my own (I am new to crawling, but not R/C) I want to ask this: With a budget similar pyro's ...up to $350...what about the AX10 RTR and then buy the Bender Axial chassis and bolt it on right away?? Would that make sense? The add on better servo, ESC, shocks, and such as the wallet allows?? I have seen the RTR for $250 or so and they are saying $100 to $120 for the chassis.

I would take a closer look at the Axial ARTR before making any purchase.

For what you're going to get out of the Losi vs. the Axial crawler, I'd personally go with the Axial. But then again, that is going to depend on what your normal use of this vehicle is going to be.. How 'large' is the terrain you are normally going to crawl? That's the major consideration when looking at the two. The Losi is more geared towards indoor playing around, as well as outdoor crawling that is not as extreme as the Axial can handle. The axial is a great platform to build an extreme rockcrawler. But then again, I'm comparing apples to oranges. It all boils down to where you are going to crawl the most, and how big you want to go eventually when (not if lol) you decide to mod your crawler. If you want something that can handle a lot more harsh terrain, I'd save a little bit longer and go with the Axial. I'm not bashing the Losi crawler at all, because I have one of each. It's a great little rig, both have plenty of potential for hours upon days of fun Just my $.02
