I have a few questions.... 1. I want to get into RC to fill the void left from selling my 1:1 Jeep trail rig and to marry my love of scale models. I want something I can have fun driving around the yard, trails, etc. and still do crawling with. Doesnt have to be fast but would be nice to be able to drive on both.. I understand the Hilux I think is 3-speed is this changeable on the fly? I am kinda leaning toward the F350 Hi-Lift or the Hilux since I think they offer a lot of options cause I am going to want to make it very authentic and scale. But I really dont know that much about them or any of the other makes. 2. As far as new bodies, will any of the 1:10 new bright bodies fit on 1:10 RC's? If I can ever find a Jeep body I will want that on whatever I get. Although I love the LAnd Rover, Unimog, Wagoneer, Land Cruiser's but cant find any of those either.. 3. My brother has a 1:8 Hummer H2 walmart type RC. Its that big yellow one they sold there. He said I can have it. Is there any use for it other than messing around with it? Can it be modified at all other than if I build racks etc. on it? If I built up racks and brush guards and other stuff on the body, made it real nice are there people that buy 1:8 bodies? Are there RCs that big? I know this is a lot and probably confusing but I am new to all of this and I feel like a kid in a candy store with no direction....

if you want to be scale and still be able to crawli would go with the tamiya landcruiser or the unimog. they have the same chassis and everything, but the only difference is the body. they have a scale ladder frame chassis, 4 link coil suspension, and 3 peice beadlock wheels. ![]() ![]() ![]() i would ditch the bumpers and buy some better tires. a lot of people say to use the panthers Last edited by king_crawl22; 10-03-2008 at 11:43 AM.

So one of those two will be the most fun to get my feet wet and do the most with as far as crawling and trail riding?

i agree, the Cr01 is a great truck i just got it as my first rig . And man its a really great kit . i think its deffinetly a more capable basher and crawler than the f350. The f350 is a good kit also it all really depends on the look your going for . You will prob have a hard time finding a jeep body to fit the F350 chassie right

Yeah i was kinda worried about that.. i gues really it doesnt have to be a jeep, just have seen some peopel put that 1:10 New Bright Jeep unlimited body on their crawlers.. But if you are happy with your CR-01 maybe thats the route i should go. I mean what is really the difference between the Highlift/hilux and the CR-01 other than the coil springs vs. leaf springs and the cr-01 having bead locks? I just want what is the better right out of the box so I can add on as I get more understanding and knowledge of these RCs.

i would prob say that right out of the box the Cr01 is better. Its easier to mod and is just an all around much more capable truck . Check out some vids of both on youtube and see which one suites your type of style . Also look on the CR01 part of the forum and look at the Picture archive . Also check out on the second page theres a thread names Body choices or something like that that shows what the truck looks like with some hard bodies on it

yeah thats where ive been once you guys said it was a good choice.. I guess what I might do is just buy the land cruiser Cr-01 and then buy a Land rover body, a truck body, and a unimog body and do them all the way I want then I can get new cr-01 kits to mate up to them or by then maybe just be able to build custom ones once I knwo what I want and like.. where is the best place to look for bodies?
