I run Losi's and they are awesome. The Panthers are also pretty killer tires. I cant say much about the HPI's though.

GOD! don't get the losi rock claws! they're like buttholes! everyone has em! there's just as good of tires out there, that are different! proline hammers and badlands are awesome tires and just as good...and they're different! p.s. i hear the hpi's kick ass. |

I like to be different but also wanted a tire that worked well. I'm running the Proline Hammer's in the M3 soft sticky compound with memory foam. It took a little tweaking but this setup is working great. The Hammer's aren't as tall as the Claws. This lowers your COG a little but gives less ground clearance. I just put some new Panthers on mine. I am happy with them so far. I'm running the memory foams up front and the standard foams out back.

The cougars are performing well at local comps here in CO. I'm running Badlands and have been really happy with them. They seem to keep up with Claws and Cougars. The best tire really depends on the terrain you're crawling on.

i started out using moabs and their where ok but when i put the losi claws on. they where awsome, some time's it's ok to follow the leader... but in the end it's up to you and what you want to do with the truck and what you want the truck to do.

One thing to keep in mind....NO tire is best at everything or everywhere. The kind of rocks you climb and your crawler setup will make one tire the best for you. You have to try different tires and foam setups to find the right tire for your crawler. Two posts above: I've used claws and hammers. Hammers suck imo. Claws are great !! One above: I'm useing m3 Hammers and they work awsome . I have a big flat rock, the same kind of rock I usually climb, in my workshop. I use it to test climbing ability. The Hammers are 20 times better on that rock with my crawler than it was with the stock Lizards. I have a set of Claws on order and then will try the Panthers. I'll post the results when I run them all through the climb test. The Hammers aren't as tall as the Claws or Panthers. The M3 compound is sticky and grabs flat rock surfaces real well but the tread rolls over a bit on rock edges. I tried four different foam and vent setups until I found what makes them work the best for me. One memory foam and no air vent in the rears and one memory and one half of a regular foam with an air vent. No tire is perfect but it helps to figure out their straightens and weaknesses to help you setup for different rocks and conditions. I won't be happy until I try all of the top tires. Test rock. The picture angle makes it look about 45 degrees, it's much steeper. Last edited by LoveToROCK; 10-16-2008 at 04:06 PM. |

i have cougars, claws, and hammers, and prefer them in that order, but really a toss up between the claws and cougars.
