what tooth pinion and spur? try a 11T pinnion if u stick with a 6 cell. get a capasiter for the the novac ESC $10.00 but 1st try a recevier pack 6.v nimh for the receiver. or aka 5 cell 2/3 nimh

is it the motor studdering or is the whole rig glitching..?

ok what gearing are you running. if you are running the 87-14 to keep it from stalluing your gonna need to volt up. Or you can drop down to a 12t pinion or stay with the 14 and step up to a 90t spur. Either will solve the stalling problem.

He said it is stalling. In other words when he gets it in a bind it stalls out. They don't make 11t 48p pinions, and a reciever pack won't help. Neither will a cap. Those would only help with glitching. Totally different than what he is saying. Oh and on a crawler its better to add and external BEC rather than another battery pack.

X2

Gear down and volt up...one or both, that will help or get rid of stalling. A good motor will do better as well.

I am also currently running the same motor on stock gearing with 2 cell lipo...

I did not find it to stall all that often the only time i can stall it out is in a pretty bad bind....

Just remember, when you "volt-up & gear down" you will at some point find the limits of your driveshafts, lockers, outputs, etc.
Also, you need to stay within the voltage limits of your esc. I don't mean to be a killjoy, you just need to keep these things in mind.

How old are your brushes, do you have good spring tension on your brushes?

He stated that he just got the motor so I would find it safe to assume that the brushes are new as well as the motor.

Is your pinion meshed too tightly against your spur gear? Does your truck have a loud whine when it runs?

Sometimes people just pop in a new motor and tighten it down, not considering how much resistance a tight mesh creates.

Ask me how I know
