Default Truck Speed

This has been covered here or there randomly in different threads but here's the straight question: What is a good combination of wheel speed and torque and what battery/motor/gearing gets you there?

There is no "magic bullet". Everyone has different preferences. I keep hearing good things about the Holmes Hobbies 45T handwound motor. So that would be a good place to start. The local guys here seem to lean towards running as big a spur as they can and then just experiement with different sized pinions ranging from 12T-16T.

I can't give more input than that since I run an R2 tranny, so my gearing is totally different.
