Default JEEP scaler crawler

Hi Anyone,

I'm looking for a nice 4 point (front , rear) Jeep (preferrably 1.9 size). One that can take those BIG ROCKS that the custom "crawlers" are running over like it's leveled asphalt.

I've seen the Tamiya Jeep but don't like the free coil shock system. I've seen the "New Bright" jeeps that people have converted to some pretty awesome rigs.

What mfg. makes these to that type of scale and ability? What should I look at first? I want a good quality rig that's going to take what I throw at it without having a lexan body.

Any help would be appreciated!

Sounds like a custom job... a New Bright hard body on top of some kind of custom chassis.

What type of custom framing and axel system should I go for?

TLT's probably as they are pretty narrow, but Axial's might not be bad. As for a frame... I've seen lots of Jeep builds using K2 chassis.

im using a new bright 10th scale Jeep Rubi body on a Reign K5 chassis. the chassis is a bit long for the body, but i have some things going into my build that will help it out.

heres a few pics of where it was a few weeks ago, its went thru a few changes recently, but generally looks close to this setup. i swapped links around so i have more rear drive shaft room, so the rear is a bit farther back adn the front is a bit more to the center of the rig now.

will get pics later and post up the new setup in a day or so.

Wow, it is like you are wanting to build what I am, lol.

Look over my build in the 1.9 forum. I just completed the chassis last night and need to post pics, but what I am building is exactly what you are after.

I am making most of it from scratch because you can't buy what I want, lol.

It is fun too, I like building it better than buying it.

Wow - I like the gas cap idea. Nice work ! That looks like it's going to take some time. I'll keep an eye on it. Want to see it's build. Great job on the fenders too by the way.

It looks like the 2.2's are the way to go. Does anyone have any pictures of a 1.9 and 2.2 side by side? I'm courious to see the size difference.

the main differance in a 2.2 and a 1.9 is only the Rim/Tire size. If i put 1.9 rims/tires on my jeep pictured above, it would then be a 1.9. im sure there are other small differances like axle width ect.. but rim/tire are the main things i believe.

It just appears that the "2.2 scale rigs" photo section are about 10% larger than those listed in the "1.9 scale rigs" section. Does rims size make that much of a difference?

If so - wow!
