Newbie here Been thinking about getting into 1/10th scale Crawling. I have raced 1/8th truggies and still have a couple of them and a Savage. There isn't any Racing here in Gardnerville NV. So I was thinking about getting rid of one of my trucks and getting a crawler. I went to CKRC in Reno today and they let me try the store truck on their course. Wow I am hooked. Anyway I was thinking about getting an Axiol. Would this be a good choice or does anyone have any better suggestions. Thanks, Kurt |
I think it's your best choice right now to get crawling in a hurry. About a week after you get it though you will be modding like crazy. I've been into RC for over 20yrs. and my axial has been my most reliable RC ever..... and I would have to say the most fun.... and the most shocking thing is that it's the absolute slowest RC I can think of.... "thumbsup" |
Modding is half the fun. I also like to paint. I like to go fast and get lots of airtime, But going to CKRC today running the shop AX-10 got me hooked. I will have to get rid of one of my 1/8th trucks first or trade for one before I get a crawler, prolly pick a used one up on egay. Some of these guys here have some bad a$$ rigs. |
Welcome to the site. The axial artr kit is the way to go"thumbsup" |

Hey Kurt, whats up? I'm from good ol' g-ville too "thumbsup". Glad to see some others from my area here. |
Thanks for all the welcomes. Hey Van where do you go crawling? I have not got a crawler yet, but I already want to build an area in my back yard. Where at in G ville are you. I am in Chichester. |
I have been looking at some Crawlers on ebay and some of them are tubers. I read somewhere that you have to have a body on the rig to compete. So If I got a tuber then I would not be able to compete right? Tubers are cool looking and all but, I want to be able to compete, also I like to paint bodies, but I guess I can paint tuber panels also. Any clearification would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Kurt |
im not 100% but i think tubers you just need certain panels on your rig to be able to compete |

most comps use these rules... cheers and have fun... tlts rule btw!!"thumbsup" |
Thanks dznuts |
I just got a star and went to the for sale section and you wouldnt believe the amount of stuff for sale that will save you a tun of money. that would be your best place to buy something that is quality and most likely modified other than ebay. if your not in a rush the new losi 1/10 looks very promising. good luck its alot of fun! |
I would agree... If you like the Axial kit and you NEED it now, I would buy one ARTR. But If you can wait, I think that the new Losi 1/10 crawler that will be hitting the market here pretty quick will give any axial a run for its money!!!"thumbsup" |
I don't have my star yet and I am not in a real hurry. I would love to have one right now because I wanna tear it apart and put it back together and hop it up. I think that is half the fun I know Losi and the Venom are coming out. I really like the Venom but, Axial has been out and there is so much aftermarket support for the Axial. That is why I was thinking of the Axial, also I could prolly get a used one for a good price. |
Welcome to the addiction |
