| Noob Question
How's it going. I really like what yall are doing, makes me want to get involved. I was researching kits, and I found one that I like. http://www.rcplanet.com/ProductDetai...tCode=TAM58415 And I have a couple questions, bare with me. How hard are these things to build? What other things would I need to buy? I read it needed a remote, battery and charger Which ones would be good? Is that kit good for a noob or is it too much? I was really wanting a Chevy truck but I couldn't find a complete kit like that. Would I be able to change out the body with another kind if I went that route? I was also looking at this one, and it's about $200 cheaper http://www.rcplanet.com/Venom_Creepe.../vnr8300re.htm Is their any other kit that you guys would recommend? I'd appreciate any help you guys can give. |

| Hey there Noob
I am not too far off from being a noob.... some stuff you might wanna know..... Rock crawling is about 17% wallet and the rest is pure hard rocket science of inovating. You can buy almost anything but you are alway going to build onto this item. I bought a Wheely King and first it was just homemade links and locked gears but its a link kit, upgraded electronics, new body, custom made steering mount, and others. If you want to make a scale rig, Tamiya has the high lift class like you found and those trucks are impressive but with a leaf spring suspension your not likely to win any comps with it. The most common crawlers are like the ones on the main page.. Your AX-10, Bergs, Wheely Kings, Clodbuster, Txt and the ones that seem to take innovation to a whole new level of thinking the Maxx crawlers. If you have any ?'s just ask away... this site is full of knowledge... the only thing to keep in mind is to find the right truck for you because after you get it... the toy will be your next major home project if you like how its going

Well, I guess what I would want is a scale truck. Like the first Toyota one, but with a Chevy body. I guess I don't want a competition rock crawler, since I don't think I'd get into it. Just something to drive around outside over some rocks and branches, snow, dirt, and mini-hills. A 4wd that I could make look like my real Chevy truck. And have the lights work and all that. If at all possible, I'd like to be able to buy a kit with everything I need in the box. And not having to piece it together from different places. I know that lights and bodies and all that are extra but just a basic kit like the Toyota one. I wouldn't even mind getting that one, only if I would be able to change the body. I appreciate the help you guys are giving. Thanks. |

Also I have a cirrus dpr-4fm control. Would this work for these type of vehicles? I used to have a cessna plane, but it met an untimely demise. So would the remote work or would I have to purchase another one? http://img370.imageshack.us/img370/1...img4684zr3.jpg Looks just like that. |
