Default Tuber Advantages and a couple Qs

I was wondering if "tubers" have any advantages or is it a "style" or "look"?

Since its a tube chassis where do the electronics mount up?

I see HBZ makes a nice chassis. Who else?

TIA

I have run both and I like the tubers because they don't get hung up as bad IMO. Alot of the tubers are kinda limited due to a lack of mounting options for shocks and such. As far as electrics go, I made some plastic plates to mount them on my upper links which helped me keep my COG down. Having run both I like the chassis type with a nice body on it. If you can find one I run the HPI Bug and love it for my comp rig.

I like tubers a lot. In fact I've been making them for years. Here's my buggy "Mugsy"

They have their +'s & -'s. They take a ton of abuse. Ask "Ralph" about that. They do weight a bit more than a standard TVP chassis, but in my opinion they are more planted. It's not easy to design a tube chassis that works well in competiton. It's do-able but not an easy task.

I have a scratch built tuber, I mounted the esc and reciever on the side panels, that kept the COG down. I love tubers because once you get it set up right, at least with my tuber, you have no tource twist, and it climbs like no bodies business!
