| Servo Disable for 2WS on 1-channel 4WS Truck?
I don't have the time to spend more than an hour searching any one topic. I used the searches "Servo Wiring", "Servo Disable", "Servo Switch" and everything on "4WS". I also checked the Hitec site and at least found out that yellow is the signal control. So my question is: I'd like to be able to disable the rear steer on my full-time (1 channel) 4WS at times (perhaps to try a comp) without unhooking the servo arm and fixing it to a servo screw. I was wondering if I put a on/off switch inline on the yellow wire if the servo would stay centered because its getting power? When I turn the truck on it centers even without the radio on so I'm assuming this works but I know the problems with ASS U MING. I'd just like to know before I go cutting wires. Thanks |

I was afraid of getting flamed cause this is "SO EASY". Am I not getting a response because its so obvious or is it {gasp} because no one knows? I guess I just gotta get out the dykes...... and the wire cutters too |

Seriously, no one can come up with even a witty "you're such a dummy" comment? I got tied up in my battery mount last night and didn't get to play with the servo control. All I need to know is: "If I cut the signal wire (yellow) on my Hitec servo will it stay centered?" |

I don't think there is an easy way to do this. I'm not 100% sure so if you feel you want to, go ahead and try it but I don't think it'll work. | |

Disabling a servo is simple but it wont stay centered.Simply cut the white wire or add an off switch to the wire. However you will need a centering divice sutch as a second channel for flipping the switch.I have lots of ideas but no good answers.Lets chat more. Our cause is the same. |
