Locked transmission ?

Well I am still trying to figure out a few items and one of which is the locked trans missions i see a certain vendors and the trans that come on a RTR ? :?:

Certain vendors have locked transmissions by Axial. Are these units the same as the units in the RTR rigs ? Sorry not enough coffee flowing through my veins. "thumbsup"

a locked trans. is one with no diff. all of the axial's have a locked trans.
