first try a new allen wrench.if that doesnt work pull the top of the wrench towards the side while you turn it.so the wrench is in the screw at a angle. some times you can get it to grab enough to loosen the set screw.

Another method I have seen mentioned but didnt work for me is to a lil bit of ca but dont get it outside of the set screw. !st dont use the ball end if you have been. Try grinding off a bit of the allen wrench to get a new crisp end to the allen wrench and make sure it is ALL the way in give it a light tap to seat it completely... Good luck

If all fails I've drilled them out use a bit small enough not to touch the threading in the hole it will take enough out you can get the rest with a pick.

I've also used small torx bits for some screws. It doesn't work for all of them but it's worth a try if you have any.

Default drill

If all fail drilling is the only option. I have gotten them out before using liquid weld.

Find a mini flat head thats about the same size, pound it in with a hammer, thats worked for me before. But i don't know how tight yours is.

well if you put loctite on the screw when you first put it in I would suggest heating it up with a lighter, torch, matches, burner on the stove...and it should come out easy even if you have already stripped the head. also you can try cutting off the end of you allen wrench or grind it off so you have nice new wrench again...

if all else fails grab your drill!

I've successfullly used CA glue to remove stripped grub's before. Dip the end of the allen into the glue, and then use a hammer or something to tap it into the screw.

I had that happen the other day. I cut a slot in mine with a dremel and then used a screwdriver.

This would only work the the set screw is sticking out of the hole some.

Try pushing your allen key/hex driver down if that doesn't work then take a dremel and grind a slot into the head and use a flat head screw driver to take it out

This happened to me yesterday. I had one stripped in the swivel that sets the pin and also one stripped in the drive shaft connection. For the swivel I torched it and it came right out. The drive shaft was tricky, couldn’t torch it with out melting the tranny. I drilled, tried every thing mentioned above. Was about to loose it when I got a set of vice grips, clamped on to the knuckle, then used a hammer to bang it off. 5 or 6 hits and it was done, wish I had thought of this three hours earlier!:-(

I like the idea of using CA to grab the screw. Never had thought/heard of that idea. I'll be keeping that one handy.
