Default New dude and stuff.

Im strait gettin an AX10 RTR. TODAY!!

(RTR because its my 2nd RC, aiight, sorry)

But yea, its my second RC like ever. i am very excited to break'n'grade as i go.

so here is my first Axial question.

i understand it comes out of the box w/ a 20t pinion and a diff locker only in the back.

how do i go bouts adding the front locker? as this configuration will be run for MAYBE one battery pack before i gear down and lock up. for som creepin torque.

what else do i gotta do to get this thing like comp capable/ready?

just gotta disassemble the front axle and install the locker, then reassemble the axle. Its hard to explain but its pretty straight forward. If you get lost refer to the distructions or go to the axial site and they should have the stuff on there too.

Do the upgrades found here: http://www.rccrawler.com/axialcompbuild.html

By the time you upgrade the RTR, you'll have been better off dollar-wise just buying the ARTR or kit and a decent radio/receiver/etc - or at least that's what I found.

But still, it kicks ass anyways.

oh yea, i know.

but hell, ive always had more success learning how things work by dissassembling and reassembling. that way i know how it should be, and how i just made it. lol.

its only my 2nd RC, so deal with my newbish brashness

well i got the bent links for the back, and did a lil Bob Mod to the tires.

i added 4 oz to each front wheel, then i turned the stock foams inside out. The foam is therfore smaller w/ in the tire, allowing it to be REAL nice aand squishy coushy.

The bent links are totallay key, and as soon as i had the set together, i realized what a sweet concept they were!!

now, these springs suck. what the hell, is this thing supposed to be a sports bike? the springs are tighter than a cheerleading camp in alaska!

what are some good soft squishy springs? i may cut these in the in the mean time.!

then, the only BAD thing, that required 2 hrs of a red faced Bob, was getting the 20t pinion off the motor. POS tension screw turned to butter on me. i had to use a vice grip and drill it out, before i could put the decent pinion in it.

My LHS is closing, so i got the AX10, bent links for the rear, the link kit, screw ends, 8 AA's, a news deans plug, and a 1100mah 6cell for $311.00. i was stoaked.

check it out!!
the bent arms ar fantastic by the way. really adds to the articulation.
and i found a GREAT place to crawl around.
this 27t motpr sux. it jumps forward, but creeps ok backward. so i reversead my motors polarity until i can get a 55-65t lathe motor this week.
PICS!!!

i also cut the body up more than it is in that pic. seems to help a good deal!
