yeah its definitely the new himoto crawler,the guy at my lhs was telling me about them last year but couldnt give me an arrival date.They have vid of it on the himoto web site, I had a look but wasnt overly impressed. I suppose I should wait until Ive seen one in the flesh or at least some decent vid before I start bad mouthing it but from what I saw on their site I am not rushing out to replace my scorpion

have a good look at the vid on their site, as mentioned above the steering link sits way too low and will catch more rocks than it clears , in the vid it hooks up at the top of what looks to be a fairly average climb and it seems to fall down the descent more than crawl down.
Looking at the photos it does look nice with all that aluminium but looks aren't everything, Ive seen photos of my sister looking nice but I'm not going to take her out.
If anyone has one it would be good to get an honest opinion on how it performs, as I said in my last post I shouldn't bad mouth it till I've seen it run properly but I just had another look at the vid and I'm still not impressed.

well it looks alright to me the only thing i dont like is the motor is mounted in the back kinda high up i wonder if i could simply flip the tranny so the motor would be mounted in the front and lower to the ground?????

Himoto makes top quality RC products. I own a On Road brushless Himoto and it is well made. It has metal gears, Aluminum adjustable shocks, adjustable suspension, and runs just as good as my high priced HPI on road RC. My point is dont knock Himoto unless you own one and have had problems with it.

Looks like a inexpensive way to get into crawling. I believe the "redcat" is in the same boat.

It actually looks like with just a days time of reworking some things it might do OK

go for it mate you will either prove us wrong or end up with a cool looking paper weight. I would be interested to know how it performs, to be honest when i first ran my scorpion rtr i thought it was a pos but after a few mods i was much happier with it:)

Just wait till my redcat and himoto brushless rigs show up. I think there is something to be said about these rc's! Just because there inexpensive doesn't mean they are cheaply made! I had a redcat tornado with the .18 and two speed. It took a beating. I remember it going into a ditch wound out, jumping a car an landing upside down 40 feet from where it launched. I flipped it over and was back running it down the street. The only other rc that has held up to my beatings was my pede.

werty I know what you mean regarding the pede the only problem I had with mine was it would spend more time doing donuts than going straight ahead on loose surfaces.
I ended up selling mine to help finance the purchase of my revo which is another very tough truck and has survived plenty of massive stacks at the local BMX track.

its interesting, I like the idea of a super shafty. I haven't seen that before. I sorta thought they were to big and heavy for all the torque need. the size just lends to moa. I think right now it might be worth buying American.
