i think the scx 10 would be cheaper but with the other route you would get to pick different tires. say if you want slingers instead of flat irons

I'd have to agree. I don't think it matters what you start with, if you want a scale truck. You'll get it quicker, probably, with the SCX-10, versus building a scale truck out of an AX-10, with an X-Trail chassis. If you intend to run larger 2.2 wheels or tires, then you'll have to make sure they will fit on an SCX-10 before you choose that truck. I'm not sure what the clearance is on the SCX-10, but if you don't want to run wideners, with 2.2 tires, then you might be better off with the X-Trail.

save urself some money, get a used ax10 thats ready to run for cheap, then with the money you saved- buy the x-trail and shocks, etc. that way if you ever wanna comp, you can swap it out and already have the stuff to run it.

well the thing is, i already have a 2.2 comp..(see sig) but i still only have the rock lizards..i was thinking that i could use the 2.2 wheel stuff for that truck. but the scx10 does have the 1.9s already and i plan on using/ having rock creapers, crushers, slingers, and flat irons...and different beadlocks like the mojave or true scale ones with blue rings... so now you guys see my whole delima. lol
