has any one ever used a3-4 link setup on an original bruiser?

Do you mean the SCX10 suspension specifically or just a 3 or 4 link suspension in general? Look up "bruiser hybrid" in the scale section. There have been many, many Bruiser-based builds that use a 4 link suspension.
