Default AX-10 Metal Driveshaft Yoke

Hi,
I just got my first AX-10 and its also the first RC kit I have built. I can't figure out how the metal driveshaft yoke is suposed to fit into the plastic driveshaft. The instruction imply that it should just snap together but the metal studs are much past the outside of the plastic shafts. Any help would be great.

Thanks,
Dave
