Default average 2.2 dimensions

hello,

I'm gonna build a crawler and gonna use 2.2 size tires, I am also going to make my own 2 plate chassis, my question is what are the most common sizes? Length/width/height(depending on suspension setup)

Thanks

are you talking chassis size or overall truck size? there are maximums for each class (1.9/2.2/super) posted, so if you wanted to compete you would have to be within those limits. However that is only for over all size, the chassis can be as big or as small as you want (unless its a tuber)

for a 2.2 comp rig maximum wheelbase is 12.5"...center to center of axles...max track width is also 12.5" outside to outside of tires....most comp rigs run about the max wheel base and probably between 9.5 to 10.5 width

...if your not gonna run comps, you can pretty much do whatever you want

the steel plate will be way to heavy. there is a reason most people use aluminum/delrin/cf. You want as light of a chassis as you can have.

as for tranny - i vote axial.

Really? i thought that you'd want more weight towards the bottom? to lower the CG?? but imma newb, what do i know? , and i did some reading last night, and i think im gonna run to wal-mart for some cutting boards , Also i was looking at the axial tranny, i think i'mm gonna go with that.. ESPECIALLY FOR 30.00 bucks. I was gonna use my Monster GT tranny but it has WAY to much slop and the whole reverse deal is dumb. So i can get around 50.00 for that and have some extra cha-ching

Thanks ALOT Guys
