Default tlt center tranny

does anyone know of a cheaper way then to spend $50 $60 on the ball diff from a stampede cause im stripped the stock one twice and im tired of replacing it and i dont want to have to lock a center one i only want 2 diffs not 3 thanks

Dude, ditch the ball diff idea, the only reason you'd need that is if you were a PRO Traxxas racer with a nutso Rusty or something, not a center tranny in a TLT-1. It isn't cheaper than the $60 you mentioned, but check out http://www.coldfusionracing.com/modu...page&pid=5 . I have personally talked to the guy behind Cold Fusion (bought his Lehner 5300 and needed help), and he is very level headed and smart. Put in an alum. idler, and you got yourself a bulletproof tranny!

in the tlt you can run the tamiya ta04 touring car gear diff. i do this and so does janderson of txt-1 fame. easyer to lock and a very durrable peice. switching to apede tranny is not a plug and play swap. needs alot of modding to get it in and runing.
