| Question about Mashigan YJ
I'm trying to find more info regarding the actual scale of this thing. Edit, sorry, the jeep yj. I get that it says it's 1:10 but the few videos I watched were saying 1:7?? I just want to know if I'll be allowed to play with others at scale adventures and the like. I'm OK with not competing but i definitely want to attend some of the local outings. I haven't seen any video or pictures with scx10s and trx4s sitting or driving next to [a mashigan jeep yj] Hey, thanks in advance. I only found this thing 3 days ago and I've been out of the hobby for last 4 years. Appreciate any insight from any of you! Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk |

Most of the big brands rigs are in the 1/8 scale range anyway They market them as 1/10 scale cause of the running gear and chassis size not the body size Jeeps are small so they had to make the body bigger to fit the 1/10th scale RC under it |

Yes, without the body, the chassis is the same size as the "1/10" on the market (Axial, Traxxas) . No one will stop you from joining a gathering . They are cool rigs.

If you want to drive true 1/10, you're mostly limited to some Tamiya CC01 and MST CMX ... everything else ranges from 1/9 to 1/7 in width and length ... most of the time with a different scale for each dimension ... FMS/RocHobby 1/10 are on the big side with 1/7 scale (except maybe the Atlas with its body a bit smaller than Proline's Dodge) and from a video, might make a TRX4 Bronco look small, but they are in the same footprint as others so they can use the same trails, gates and obstacles. |

There's a picture on here with the mashigan next to a tamiya jeep. As far as scale goes, I'd say the scx10.1 would be my benchmark as far as first available 1/10 crawler. Otherwise I use Tamiya's TC bodies as a reference

I appreciate all of your replies. I checked out the links and am impressed. I used to love playing with these things. More of a scale trail rig guy than comp and was concerned with how much I'll be able to swap out as time goes on. Looks like I can get ar44s on there? Replace that frame rail and tranny with a custom TGH frame and forward motor mount. This should be fun ($$). It's on the way. Some pics of my past attempts. Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk |

Do any of you own one? I think the batteries I ordered are already going to be too big (I was going scx10.ii route but decided against it AFTER I bought 2 new batteries. Here's to hoping I can make them fit without fudging with too much. I'll start a half-assed thread when I get it next week. The trials and tribulations of an amateur modder. My buddy has some leftover paint and just said "give it to meeeee" when I asked him how much to paint my tiny truck, lol. Lamborghini purple and some lime green he painted a nasty charger with. I dunno. I just...don't...know. Cheers! Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk |
