Angry Help - Lost Drive Shaft Screw

While running ny Axial crawler yesreday I noticed no movement from my rearwheels. On closer inspection I found my drive shaft had come loose from the transmission. Even closer inspection reveal that the screw (AXA180) was missing from the rear yoke (AX 30380). Does anyone know where I can get another one of these screws (AXA180)? I have tried Lowes and Home Depot without success. Any help with this problem would be appreciated.

Yes, now I know to use thread lock on these types of screws.

It is a simple 3x3mm set screw. Set screws are hard to find in hardware stores. Try going to your LHS and ask for a similar screw. If they don't give one for free I am sure they can give you a pack of assorted screws that will do the job plus you will have spares. It wont cost you more than 5$ I guess.

If you can't find them locally Mcmaster.com has them in 100 packs for about 4 bucks.

Well,if you can't get to a hobby shop, order on line or poop one out,you could cut a 3mm button head bolt down and use that. I've done the same and it works fine. Thread a 3mm nut on the bolt before cutting. After cutting, remove the nut and it'll clean the threads up at the cut.

Thanks for the tip on using a button head bolt and nut. Will have to give it a try and see how it works.

fastener vendor would be a store that sells nothing but nuts and bolts and other asorted things to fasten things together
