Default Help me make a scaler/crawler

i have seen on this website that many of you guys make the frame rails yourself.well i am in high school now and am pretty good at manufacturing parts and peices in the machine shop.so i became interested in rc's a little bit ago started out with nitro but now i would like to try out crawlers/scalers.i am planning on making the fame/chassis myself but have no idea what design works the best and no idea about the parts i will need etc.i know i need axles, tie rods, shocks, servos and motors.so i am wondering if any of you guys have plans to make your own crawler/scaler(like the chassis blueprint and the matieral/parts i will need.thank you in advance

Save up and buy a RTR crawler. Make sure you dig it first. Or, if your friends have any, try out theirs as well.

And, yes, search This site has MASSIVE amounts of INFO.

Here's a good place to start if you wanna build your own frame. Make sure you watch the Part 2 also. However, if you're starting from scratch you're probably better off buying one ready to go out of the box. Building a custom rc is a lot easier (and cheaper) if you already have all the parts laying around so you can mix and match and measure as you go. Hope this helps.
