| What to get??
Hey Guys, I have been racing on-road for years and am looking to find something to play with when I am not racing and maybe with some mods could be a competitive crawler. At the moment I have a Juggernaut II that I have had for ages, I use it for backyard bashing and crawling but it is due to be retired to the shelf ( its a bit nice now after the last rebuild. I want to get something that crawls better but I still want a scale looking truck that I can also bash around. When I go out we normally unload straight from the car and drive to where we will play around we will do a bit of rock stuff or MTB trails find a small creek and do some crawling, then drive back to the car. The reason I say this is it can't be to slow What do you think? I am swaying towards a CR-01 I just dont want something to comp orientated or a buggy with big wheels and I already have a Monster Truck Its hard I know Any suggestions Cheers Rick |

I would definately go with the axial SCX-10. It is the best scaler out. period.

A couple of the scaler guys around here swear by them. They say its the best scaler chassis out. You could definately use this chassis in a scaler comp. Since its an axial there is an endless amount of hopup parts too. Check out the SCX scaler section and use that search. It costs about $240. heres a link to see read about the scx10: http://www.axialracing.com/ftp/scx10/ |

Cool, what about the CR-01? Would the axles and transmission be able to be used to make a scale truck later?

itd work as a scaler i think with some moding but wouldnt work with 1.9s very well the axles just dont have the clearance. you could get any axial truck that you wanted and turn it scaler or comp rig and they are bullet proof out of the box but my experance with tamiya has been bad and not held up to bashing at all

The axials are a great choice. Cant really go wrong with one. There are tons of parts and hop ups. If you wanna play inside as well, another good choice is the MRC, granted its not gonna do all the things a 2.2 will do, but they are really good, and there are lots of hop ups for them Good luck with your decision |

Man, its a hard choice. But I have come to the conlusion that a CR-01 will be better for me to start off, I really like the look of it, and if crawling is the go I can get an Axial later. |
