Well first of let's start with hello, hey all, hope I'm around for a while. My recent discovery of the crawling has fuel a whole new obsession. Now my questions. I have recently got a MRC, and a axial. Now on my MRC the top battery tray and shock mounts were removed. Great rite.... my problem is they mounted the shock to the top of the tvc's, it seems like the shocks are layed way down hindering the flex of the truck. Is this rite? If not how do I cure it. Longer shocks, bent links. The wheelbase seems to be rite atm. So I'm a bit confused, please help. Thanks,

I have a MRC, and from what your describing, (the battery tray removed with the actual battery, esc, reciever mounted elsewhere) And the shocks mounted to the TVP's where the battery tray would have mounted to the TVP's. So first what you need to make sure of is that you have some bracing between the TVP's up top. Without them they will flex and bend easy and really hurt performance. Second, alot of people run their shocks mounted to the TVP's. (though I dont) What it does is lower the height of the truck lowering its COG. It doesnt change anything as far as articulation goes. Moving the shocks around wont affect Wheel Base, because they dont locate anything. Only the lower, and upper links both being shorter will change wheel base. Only changing one will cause the pinion angle to change. Heres a short list of what you need to upgrade. (you can get a more detailed list by using the search button in the Losi MRC forum) Metal lockers (f/c/r), Shocks (aluminum), Shock oil (at least 50wt) four link (either make your own, or buy a kit.), servo (most like the hitec 645, you will also need a BEC if you dont want to fry your electronics) Motor (most like the Holmes Hobby TMM), Wheels and tires (wheels are your choice make sure tho they are 1.9 sized wheels, the MRC just wont push 2.2's) As for tires, alot like the pro-line G8 Flat Irons, and the Losi blue claws (they look like the stockers, but are a diffrent compound), Wheel weights. Ask around for tips to get you started with weight This should get you started, But swing over to the MRC forum and start reading, and searchin... you'll learn a ton.

Here's how I have mine mounted. I also have a homemade 4-link on the rear. The four link eliminated most of the torque twist. The cross braces are Axial 55mm links. The 4 link are made from Jato turnbuckles and Tamiya shock mounts. ![]()

I do not know a ton about the MRC we have only built one but I am about to start building another. IMHO the stock MRC has way to much flex to start with.We are now running a mini GC2 setup but when we were running the stock chassis and shocks I limited the shocks on the inside by 3/8 all the way around to get the ride height down and limit the flex.It worked way better atleast for our driving style.
