That is not encouraging - hop ups (optional) parts from the factory that don't fit. So, the pinion did not mesh properly with spur gear? What was the problem?

Do any of the other truck parts work with these? I know in the past there have been companies that use a lot of like Traxxas parts. Is it the same with Redcat?

if it was a 9tooth it would most likely work or if a got different axle gears it might work but the 8tooth wont mesh up it looked like they were a little to big like the space between the teeth didnt match it would skip teeth on the sper gear. have you done any thing to yours?

I have moved the suspension attachement points on the chassis - I have been playing around with the stock set-up looking for the best set-up for my conditions. I have starred at the rig for hours thinking about different changes to make, but have not made any major changes. Was waiting for factory upgrades - but with your recent info., I don't know. I was going to add weights to the front wheels, but motor temps and power leave me wondering if that is a mistake, without the big 540s installed? I made a roll cage out of a hanger to protect the electronics when body is off - looks iffy, but works perfectly.

The 540 motors, or associated meshing of such motors, is not a factory hop-up for the RS10.

I was wondering about the 8T pinion gear and why it did not fit/work properly.

it doesnt mesh up with the spur gear, not enough teeth on the pinion

To be clear, the 8T pinion on a 540 size motor does not mesh correctly. This kit wasn't designed to run 540 motors so some experimenting and/or custom parts may be required to get them to work properly.

I get it - the 8T pinion is for the 380 motor - not 540 - that was the problem. I wonder about the 8T pinion on the 380 motor - how much difference will be seen?

The back servo - only used half of the time - only lasted 2 weeks before it stopped turning right - upgrade or warranty replace?

Since it's pretty new, it can't hurt to ask for a replacment. Ultimately any RTR kit would be greatly improved by upgrading the electronics, particularly the servos.

There are plenty of suggestions for different servos here, and we offer a 200+ oz-in servo for just over $20. If you only buy 1 upgraded servo, use it on the front axle.

Haven't run them yet, so I can't give an opinion. BUT, I got most of the build mocked up today, and have a GTG next Saturday, so should have it going in the next few days.

About the whole turns thing, yes and no. They do run quicker than the stock 70T motors, but you can't use the turn number of a cobalt motor in comparison to a normal magnet motor. Want to know why? I have no idea!! Unless the thing is 3-phase and driving a large fan or pump, I have no idea on motors!

Awesome, thanks. I still may pick up a couple of them since they're cheap. Your rig is looking really cool. Look forward to seeing it completed.
