Default Tire Choice

What would be the recommended choice between:

1- Panther cougars
2- Axial Rock Lizards
3- Imax G-Hawgs
4- Losi Rock Claws

and why, please.

Thanks.

of the ones listed I'd have to go with the lizards.
There a good tire.

However if you had added the G8 Flat Irons, it would be no comparison. They are IMO the best tire out there. Super grippy, great traction for both climbing, descending, and side hilling. They last a really long time, and they are really cool lookin

For that I'd say Panthers with a stiff foam. If you plan to run in mud much, I'd go with a set of the Chisels. I've got both for my comp rig and swap them out according to the terrain...

The Proline Badlands might be another tire you might want to consider in line with the Chisel. The lugs of the Badlands are good in dirt and mud and decent on rocks.

I'm running the Losi Rock Claws on my rig right now. I just got the truck (Used Wheely King crawler) and like the tires b/c they seem really grippy. I can crawl almost anything LOL. I havnt experimented with the others, so I cant say what the "best" truly are.

The only ones off that list would be the Panther cougars (best climber). Hot body rovers (best all around), losi comp claws (great side hills) or pro line Chisels (best in slow stuff) would be some other good choices in that order. IMHO

I'm not trying to hi-jack this thread, but wouldnt your over-all setup (truck, size, height, body, accessories etc..) also determine what tires would crawl best for you? This is my first r/c crawler, so I too have some newbie q's LOL. I would just figure it'd be like true truck crawling and each tire will handle differently per application.....? Am I wrong on that?

on your list:

panthers work best on slick rocks (granite, etc)

losi rock claws work best on grippy rocks (sandstone, etc)

i haven't tried the G-hawgs
and the rock lizzards are best used for practicing cutting up and re-gluing tires

They aren't on your list but I'd have to say the Hot Bodies Rovers. Best all around tire that I have used. Just my .02

Yeah, that'll teach me to open my mouth before my brain has a chance to tell it what to say. Hey everyone look at me, look at the idiot... Yay.
