| The stock ESC and motor will do me for now, that is while I am "learning" to crawl. However are there any good things to say about the Novak Rooster system? Also a crawler guy that I know said something about running a BEC to run the steering servo directly off of the battery. |

| i started at the same spot as you and have done everything here and then some!!! i have the rooster crawler an i think it works great, the biggest bang for your buck right off the bat imho is weights, tires, and batteries on the axle. you will notice a huge difference. remember that there are alot of mods you can do with stock stuff that will make a great difference, do some searches and read some threads. after that tune suspension. i agree with the mods that have been recomended but i would also 4-link, this helps alot with torque twist. have fun man get as much wheel time as possible!!! |

| Comp is the way that I want to go. No point in doing something if you arent going to take it to the fullest! For example I have a traxxas rustler that I stripped down and put a MMM esc and medusa motor on with a maxamps 4s lipo a car that is supposed to do 60 should do 90 with my setup. Im a go big or go home kinda guy. and i say should do 90 because i just got the motor and all in today and havent had time to test it yet. |

| Run what you got for now, so that you get a feel for it. There are lots of things you can do with a AX10 RTR starting with buying metal links, new metal gear turning servo, softer springs for the front shocks, softer tires, four link plate out back, batteries over the front axle, 55 turn motor and speed control combo, and trim that stock body for better tire clearance when on rocks. Thats just a few things to get you started. |

Too often we get excited and upgrade before we've driven a vehicle enough to know what the upgrades actually did. Eddie Van Halen can make a $50.00 guitar sound like a Les Paul. I can take a Les Paul and make is sound like a trash can...

I just purchased the RTR and added a Novak 55turn "quality" motor rather then the stock 27t that comes in the RTR its to fast for crawling even geared down. The RTR shocks the RTR work pretty well I just limited them internally changed shock oil and swapped to 2.5” Losi springs. I also trimmed the body so no rub. And a used metal gear servo i picked up. All of these mods cost me a total of $60 and my truck works great. I couldnt be more happy with it!
