Default glued tires

is there an easy way to remove glued tires from a rim without destroying the rim?

Do a search for "baking tires" and for "boiling tires"

I've had the best luck with baking them off. 350deg for 20min and they come right off. Stinks the house up really bad though.

For my B4 buggy wheels, I leave the wheel soaking for a couple of hours in acetone. Softens and removes the CA glue, but doesn't damage the rims. Cut the centre of the tyre off and remove the foams before soaking.

Works much faster than boiling, but be sure to keep the acetone in a sealed container, outside the house for safety. I use an airtight lunch box as a soaking tray.

Acetone is readily available from "nail art" suppliers. Found mine on eBay.

I use a ca glue remover , just squirt it where you want the glue bond to be broken wait a few seconds and break the bond.

I don't know about bead lock rims, boiling rims of the B4 and Losi XXX also will cause the rims to "snap" back to their original shape (truing them).

Acetone works well and is available at Home Depot to in pint to gallon sizes. If you are in a hurry for the rim, as do as Clockwork recommends.

My method: If you are not in a hurry submerse the entire rim/tire assembly in acetone. I usually do 2-4 at a time. Squeeze the tires to get the acetone in through the vent holes. Wait over-night they will come off very easy, the foam will be 3 times is original size, but will return to normal after drying. But you can use the tire and rim again! Some of the better foams you could reuse. I have to put a weight on the tires to keep them from floating.

Keep acetone away from mineral based painted bodies and some lexans, if you splash it, you won't like the results.

Rare but some plastics will melt in acetone!
