That is a great setup. Maybe even a 35t handwound for wheel speed. But if you have the 45t and rooster use it, it will work great and you dont have to waste money on new junk. |

In a scaler (or any rig) space becomes important. The fxr is tiny and will allow 3 cell lipos for a smaller more powerful battery. Plus it's a great esc. Then a good 35t motor will keep ya happy for a long time.

You guys are going to think I am nuts. I am going to be running an XL-5 and 12t Slash motor geared 20/54. According to my math sheet >>here<< I should be able to get about 25 out of my SCX-10 on 7 cell NiMh. I just need to keep an eye on temps and make sure that I don't over heat. After all, even though its a scaler, its still just an RC car and I can do with it as I please. The reason for the small spur gear is to ensure that I can hide the transmission under the interior. Hopefully this will all work out. Keep your eyes open for a build coming up next month or two. I will have lots of free time soon. |

I went with the FXR, 35t Warrior R, Spectrum SR3000 reciever, and older DX3 radio. I haven't done the lipo thing yet but am pretty happy even with a stick pack so far.

I don't know how much slower the 45t is compared to my 35t but if my SCX was any slower than it is now, I don't think I would like it as much. It has plenty of control at slow speeds and is much faster than walking pace at full speed with only a stick pack.

Hi all , if I want my SCX 10 to run fast like a off road rally truck , what ESC and how many turn motor should I use? (Brushless motor) Running on Lipo. And will it spoilt the transmission if I run it too fast? Thanks |

| Mamba 4600 has great wheel speed. You just have to make sure you build everything to be tough enough. Such as knuckles, C's, driveshafts, and body mounts.
