Default Ob axles

I have an AX10 and Ive seen these axles on a lot of comp crawlers, and I understand the basics of them. Now my question to you all is, are they that benificial to anything other than a comp crawler?

I know their out of place on a scale rig. . . Obviously. I know they lower the c.o.g. and their generally stronger but is it really worth it for a trail rig that may see comps once a year? I dont know if i could justify the cost for my ax10.

Thanks for helping a new guy. Also thanks for everyones input, I HAD a slew of questions before I used the search button.

I think he is refering to MOA's as OB's. Hot racing advertises them as " On Board " axles.

to answer your question If you don't compete with your rig then don't spend the money on them.

I haven't had any luck with hot racing products in other forms of R/C, but I had seen the axles there and forgot the proper name for them, so I figured I'd ask on here. That was basically the response I figured I'd get but it never hurts to ask, in case there was something I'd missed. Thanks again.

Definately not HR bro... if you want to do an moa rig buy berg axles. But, even then, it ain't worth it if you only compete once a year!

Yea, I havent been bit by the competition bug. . . . . .yet. I was mainly wondering if there were any benefits to a trail rig that would rationalize spending that much money. Thanks for everyones input

Well, on benefit is that an electronic dig, IMO, is much more reliable than a mechanical dig.

Don't forget clodbuster axles... the original MOA(?). Much cheaper than the uber fancy berg axles.

Agreed! I'll be running my 2.2 clod in our comp tomorrow. Only downfall with the clod 2.2's is that they require a bit of work to narrow them down and you'll need a taller tire to get some clearance under the diff.
