Default wheel base question

Hello everyone! I have been looking around here and was wondering if their is a wheel base minimum or maximum on the different classes? I don't recall reading it anywhere. A link of the different class requirements would be great.

I assume crawlers are not built just any way and their is a standard. I have read that 2.2 class is the most popular, why is this?

Thanks,
Gary

I would imagine 2.2 is popular because it requires a heck of a lot less rock to be a challenge. I had a clod based crawler and you needed some big rocks to challenge it. Areas like the Mid-west don't have a lot of rock like that all over like out west. Just my thoughts...
