If you don't mind toasting your Rooster, it'll work for a mnute or two...

8.4v is the max for that ESC. If you take it past that make sure you have video of the melt down...

I have a super rooster and I run a 3 cell 5000 25c on a 55t all day and never have a problem.

I fried my first rooster with just an 8 cell Nimh and it only lasted 5 minutes before it went up in smoke.

I definitely wouldn't run more than 7 cells or 2s on it.

I am currently running a Rooster CE on 3S 2250mAH LiPo and no issues so far. 55T motor gets a bit hot if ya thrash it, but ESC is cool. No LVC either, I run 'til it stutters and the battery is cool too.

Cheers.

I used to run my rooster on a 3s all the time. I never had a problem with it. Its even been submerged under water once. Still works to this day as a back up ESC.

Ok how come there are 2 different out comes for this ESC.

Why does Joe's Rooster ESC work with a 3s lipo, and then Jane's Rooster ESC doesn't work with a 3s lipo???

Why would Novak say 2s only. And then someone goes and uses a 3s with no problem. How come Novak has not addressed this to the public. What's the real answer???

You can run a Traxxas Slash stock on 3S for a little while. Companies have to protect themselves through the warranty period.

Sure go run it on 3S, I'm sure they'd love to sell you another one.

My guess is that someone misjudged the name on their esc(or not sure)
The super will handle it but needs a cut off(external)
