Default Best ESC with best drag brakes?

Hi guys. Im trying to decide which ESC to get with good drag brakes.I need to decide which one I can use especially during climbing or downhill. Im looking at Sidewinder or rooster crawler and I know with sidewinder, I have the options to upgrade to lipo later but Im not sure about how good the drag brakes is. With Rooster crawler I have used it on my other rigs and its flawless and the drag brakes is awesome but the problem is, I have limited upgrades on it compared to sidewinder. Need help crawlers.

It does not do brushless but its the best speed control out there when it comes to drag brake on a brushed motor.

None of those have drag brakes comparable to the internal drag of a Puller motor! Those magnets are STRONG! Chriz, I run a Sindewinder (w/drag set at 50%) and 7T puller in the truck that you saw at the comp this past weekend and that thing will stop on a dime and hold that position on any hill.

BTW, if you end up with a Castle Creations product, I've got the Castle Link and set any specs that you need!

If you go to the other thread someone asking about what ESC to run most everyone on that page says go with a Castle product and most everyone on this page says go with Tekin , I have a few Sidewinders and they work great I'm happy with them.

Thats because he is specifically asking about drag breaks. The tekin is in a different relm when it comes to that. If you ever tried a Tekin to would more than likely be selling your sidewinder to buy one.

Side winders and mambas are MADE by castle, reasonably enough, for some people, thats reason enough alone to go that route.

i went with a tekkin because its small, is programable via buttons on the thing, and via hotwire (pc interface) and drag brake.

just make sure you solder the capacitor to the right side....

or the left side. It all depends on what way you are looking at it.

Thanks Jeremy. I think ill go for sidewinder then. Yeah, I noticed you truck and it got the drag brakes it needs to grip on any hill. Did you program it using the interface?
