Default cva vs universals

Ok just thought I'd throw this out there to see what everybody thinks. What is better a cva axle or a universal joint type axle? Personally I think a universal would handle a little more abuse than a cva, also it seems like you could push your steering just a little further with a universal.

Yeah, the universal joint would probably withstand more abuse than the pin in a CVD....but the u-joint would have to be pretty small or the axle would have to be pretty large. Also, if you brok one, there'd be no replacing the joint.

Well if you look at the rest of RC as proof you'd have to side with the CVA/CVD.

The Universal system in RC is very old...way back when it was the common upgrade.

The problem became strength of the small pieces....MIP then created the CVD/CVA which revolutonized everything and is now the true de-factor standard (except Kyosho).

the universal is the best way to go i run traxxas shafts in comps with a bunch of guys running cva's and they are always breaking them. while i fall of large drops over and over and never break anything. go traxxas.
